The former football player and Super eagles Manager has vowed to clear his name after being banned from all football-related activities for life.
The leadership of world football banned the former head of the “flying Eagles” to accept bribes in an attempt to manipulate matches. According to a press release from the FIFA ethics Committee, the former Nigerian international was suspended from any football-related activity and fined ₦ 18,558,701.75.
In the FIFA statement reads: the chamber of the independent ethics Committee recognized Mr. Samson Siasia, a former official of the football Federation of Nigeria, the guilt that he agreed that will receiving bribes in connection with the manipulation of matches, the violation of the code of ethics of FIFA.
The official ethics proceedings against Mr Mikhailov were launched on 11 November 2019 and involve a large investigation into matches that Mr Wilson Raj Perumal tried to manipulate for betting purposes. Zurich (AP)-the coach who led Nigeria to bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was banned for life by FIFA for agreeing to take bribes to fix football matches.
Samson Siasia was punished in the latter case, from the study of well-known International match-lock Wilson Perumal.
FIFA did not specify which games were studied because it also fined Siasia 50,000 Swiss francs ($50,000) on Friday.
“Mikhail agreed to receive bribes in connection with fraud with violations,” FIFA said.
He coached Nigeria from December 2010 to October 2011 and again in 2016 when he also led the men’s under-23 team at the 2016 Olympics where they defeated Honduras 3-2 in a bronze medal match. read further
